With a passion for women that is evident to all, Marlesa loves to share her inspirational and hilarious stories with audiences everywhere. She encourages women to see their beauty within, along with becoming the strong and complete masterpieces they have been created to be. Her story of hope reaches a wide audience, and she has been hosted by many Southern Baptist, Evangelistic, Charismatic, Pentecostal and Non-denominational churches nationwide.
Marlesa holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Valdosta State University. In 1986, she captured the title of Miss Georgia and went on to be a “Top 10″ Finalist in the Miss America Pageant, singing Amazing Grace for the national television audience. Her moving rendition of the song is still requested at many engagements as she continues to perform and minister throughout the US.
Following her year of travel as Miss Georgia and ambassador for the State of Georgia, she sang with Disney’s “Voices of Liberty” a cappella singers for two years. She has performed for two U.S. Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan; was a soloist with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra; and has sung for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks professional sporting events.She also spent a season as the director and choreographer of the award winning IMPACT! Show Choir. A few of the productions she choreographed are: Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Pirates of Penzance, Beauty & the Beast, Oklahoma & Bye Bye Birdie. Each of these momentous occasions has given her another platform from which to encourage and inspire everyday women in any life-situation.
